Jerry Gene Aldridge, age 79, of Nixa, passed away January 1, 2018. He was born in Falfa, Colorado February 28, 1938, the son of Benjamin and Marie (Greenwood) Aldridge. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. During that time he had served in the submarine service for five years. Following retirement Jerry worked as maintenance supervisor for Sea Con in El Cajon, California for 15 years.
On January 8, 1957 he and Bonnie Lou Duckworth were united in marriage. Jerry was a member of Ozark Masonic Lodge #352 AF & AM. He was also a member of Eastern Star Crescent Chapter #21 and had served twice as Worthy Patron. Active in the community, Jerry had delivered Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed reading western books, and fishing when he could.
Survivors include: His wife of 60 years, Bonnie: nephews, Rick Duckworth and wife Pat of Joplin, Mike Duckworth and wife Angela of West Amana, Iowa, Richard Aldridge of Arizona, and Brian Aldridge of Michigan; and a sister, Dollie Kelough of Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by two children, Judith Lynne DeLeon and Keith Alan Aldridge, and a grandson, Gilbert DeLeon.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 5, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A Eastern Star and Military Service will be presented.
Burial will be in El Camino Memorial Memorial Park Cemetery in California.
