Jeffrey Russell Knight left this world on the 9th day of February, 2014 in Springfield, Mo. He was born in Sacramento, California September 12th 1980. Jeffrey's father was in the Armed Forces and shortly after his birth his family moved to Germany where he spent the first years of his life. He also had the opportunity to live in Hawaii during his childhood. Jeffrey moved to Southwest Missouri in 1992 at the age of 12 where he attended Nixa High School. Even though he spent more than half of his life in this area, those that know him know that he always considered himself a "California boy" at heart. Jeffrey had a lifelong dream of attending culinary school and becoming a chef. He loved the restaurant atmosphere and enjoyed his jobs as a server. Jeffrey had a passion for baseball and loved all things about the sport including the St. Louis Cardinals. If there was a game on TV, you could bet he would be watching it. He was also an Oakland Raiders fan, and not one of those fair weather fans either. That's the thing about Jeffrey, whatever or whoever he loved, he loved them through it all. He was a kind man, with a huge heart and was always willing to take a chance on anyone who needed it.
Jeffrey often said the one thing he got right in his life was his daughter, his "La La". He was very proud of her and the person she is becoming with the guidance and love of her mother, Yomi, his mother, Kim, and his sister, Kayley. He was also a very proud and a bit over protective big brother to his little sister, who in recent months had become one of his dearest friends.
Jeffrey is survived by his mother, Kim Steding and his step father Keith Burk of Spokane, Mo; his father, Russell Knight, of Springfield, Mo; his sister Kayley Tatum, of Springfield, Mo; his daughter, Ella Rose, of Springfield, Mo; girlfriend Casey Greathouse, of Republic, Mo; aunts, uncles, cousins, and many close friends, all who love him dearly. I must also conclude by saying that he was and will always be the "the apple of his Gramma Dorothy's and Gramma Julie's eye".
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family.
