Jeffrey Lehn Whittington passed away December 13, 2020, in Springfield, MO. from a massive heart attack. He was born May 21, 1965 at St. John's Hospital, Springfield. He was the son of John David Whittington and Novella Mae (Pryer) Whittington..
Jeff was a member of the Glendale High School class of 1983. He later attended Missouri State University. He was a long-time member of Kingsway United Methodist Church.
Jeff is survived by his parents, John and Novella Whittington of Springfield, a brother, Mark Whittington, St. Petersburg, FL., his girlfriend, Betsy Smith, Springfield, and many cousins, other relatives and many great friends.
Jeff has been in the Springfield/Branson area entertainment scene since the 1980's. He was a drum student under legend Dave Bedell through high school. He was in several bands….Exploit, Floyd and the Flavors, Harmonix and Private Eyes. From the 1990's he has excelled as one of the leading drummers in the midwest. His talents were at the highest levels. His personal influence on others even exceeded his drumming achievements. He mentored many drummers over the years. His personality and his smile were his biggest attributes. Above all, he loved and respected his parents. He was a great son, brother and friend.
Jeff's visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, MO on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. under Covid-19 regulations guidelines. His Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 18, 2020 in Richwood Cemetery at Fremont Road and Richwood Road, between Ozark and Nixa, MO.

Area musicians have planned a "Friends of Jeff Whittington Celebration" on Sunday evening, December 20, at Shuffle Pub, 2550 South Campbell, Springfield. All Jeff's friends are invited to attend and enjoy the many entertainment memories of his life.
