Jean Elinore Storie, age 89, of Springfield, formerly of Nixa, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021. She was born June 18. 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Arndt and Elinore (Nyman) Lindgren. On December 24, 1949 she and Eugene Storie were united in marriage. She worked for Johnson and Johnson in Chicago for quite a few years.
In 1976 she and Eugene moved to Missouri and bought a farm near Seymour. She loved farming and her life on the land. In 1980 they began a series of moves, taking them to other states. They ended up in Nixa, where Jean had many friends. Jean enjoyed playing Bingo, and trips to the casino.
Jean had lived at The Cambridge for several years, enjoying friends she made there and the loving staff.
Survivors include: three children, Ellyn Smit of Brenham, Texas, Gary Storie and wife Linda of Tinley Park, Illinois, and Craig Storie and wife Diane of Ozark, Missouri; grandchildren, Sheri Dunn-Fannin and Kriss of Tampa, Florida, Deneen Wilson and Fred of Culver, Indiana, Jon Windhorst of Tinley Park, Illinois, Jessica Crowley and Josh of Wilmington, Delaware, Taylor Wyncott and Caleb of Joliet, Illinois, Eric Storie and Amanada of Phoenix, Arizona, and Kim Davidowski and Bryan of Imperial, Missouri; a granddaughter-in-law Katie Storie; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a sister Terry Mozzi; a brother Kris Nielsen; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert and Paulette Storie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, on August 7, 2019; a grandson Matthew Storie; two brothers Paul Lindgren and Richard Schoenbacher; and her parents.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 27 in Fairview Baptist Church, Laquey, Missouri. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until service time on Saturday. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
