Janet Sue Payne

Janet Sue Payne, age 80, of Ozark, was surrounded by her children in her home when she went to be with the Lord, Thursday, August 1, 2019. She was born February 27, 1939, in the Shady Grove community, the daughter of Archie and Gladys (Chaudoin) Forgey. Janet was baptized into the Shady Grove Baptist Church at a young age, and was a longtime member of Selmore Baptist Church. On March 27, 1955 she and Lloyd Nolen Payne were united in marriage, and to this union four children were born. Janet was an accomplished florist and business owner. She was a loving homemaker, and superb cook and seamstress. Janet welcomed many people into her home and was always cheerful and without criticism to those around her. She often put others before herself. Survivors include: Three children, Cindy Eddings and Mike of Highlandville, Randy Payne and Sheila of Sparta, and Dale Payne and Angie of Marshfield; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Forgey of Augusta, Kansas; other relatives and many friends. Janet was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, in 2005, son Steve Allen Payne, grandson Jeremiah Ryan Payne, brother Richard Lee Forgey, and her parents. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, August 5, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Josh Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Linden Cemetery, Sparta. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday, August 4, in the funeral home.
