Janet Sue Griffen

Janet Sue Griffen, 83 passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at 12:35 p.m. at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.  She was born August 2, 1939, in Springfield, Illinois to Theodore and Gladys Sitton Gardiner.

She was a graduate of Barry, Illinois High School and the Floral School of Design in Chicago, Illinois.

She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and Refuge Church in Nixa, Missouri.

She was a floral manager for Smitty’s, Albertson’s and Price Cutter grocery stores.  She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Springfield Symphony Guild.

She is survived by her son Christopher (Lauri) Griffen of Nixa. Her grandson’s Adam (Harmony) Griffen and Jordan Griffen all of Nixa.  Her great grandson’s Tanner Peoples of Branson, Blake Griffen and Koji Griffen of Nixa. Her aunt Darlene Bell of Manchester, Illinois.

She was proceeded in death by her parents and brother Gerald Gardiner.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name are suggested to Least of These in Ozark, Missouri.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2023, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, burial will take place at Rosedale Memorial Gardens in Nixa.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
