Janet C. Edie, born on April 7, 1944 to Eugene and Thelma Hilton in Paducah, KY, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2024. She married Wendell Edie in 1964 and they enjoyed 51 wonderful years together. Janet and Wendell loved to travel, often taking their children to places where they could stop and put their feet in the water, creating cherished family memories.
Janet was a devoted teacher for 40 years, sharing her knowledge and passion for home economics, commercial sewing, and pattern making with countless students. Her love for sewing, gardening, reading, and cooking was evident in every aspect of her life. She took great joy in preparing all the family feasts, making every holiday and gathering special.
Janet's warmth, kindness, and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love, learning, and cherished memories.
Janet is survived by her son Patrick David Edie (Jennifer), daughter Carin Elizabeth White (Jamison), two grandsons Ryan Edie and Jeremy White and her brother Robert Ford.
Janet is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband Wendell, and 3 brothers Kenneth Hilton, Steven Ford, and Roger Ford.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory. A graveside service will be held on July 26, 2024 at 11:00 am at Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora, Missouri with Pastor Brad Fox officiating.
