James "Scott" Lurvey

January 26, 1969 — February 7, 2016

James Scott Lurvey, age 47 of Ozark, passed away February 7, 2016. He was born January 26, 1969, in Springfield, the son of James K. and Karen S. (Williams) Lurvey. Scott was a sales manager for Grass America, where he had been named "Salesman of the Year" more than once. Scott was an MSU graduate. Scott enjoyed motorcycles, roping and was known for being able "fix anything." Most of all, he enjoyed being involved in his kids' lives. Scott was a wonderful, kind and big hearted dad, friend and neighbor who never knew a stranger. Scott had attended James River Church for many years and was currently attending First Baptist Church of Branson. Survivors include: his wife, Sherri Lurvey; his children, Jaysee McDaniel, Zackery Lurvey and Jacob Lurvey; and his brothers, Bruce Edwards and Brett Edwards. Scott was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2016, in Clark Chapel, James River Church, Ozark, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Eric Porter officiating. Burial will follow in McConnell-Bledsoe Cemetery, Nixa. A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Clark Chapel, James River Church, Ozark.
