James Edward Prentice

November 1, 1934 — May 12, 2014

James Edward "Jim" Prentice, age 79, of Ozark, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014. He was born November 1, 1934 in Denver, Colorado. Jim served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Until retirement Jim worked as a Hotelier. Jim was a man who fought hard and squeezed every ounce of laughter and good times out of his life before leaving us. He was loving, caring, thoughtful and above all else ornery. Jim loved to make everyone laugh and could draw an immediate eye roll in any conversation. He enjoyed working for many years as a hotelier and was especially proud of his work with The Cheshire in St. Louis and Arrowhead Lodge at Lake of the Ozarks. He accomplished more in his lifetime than most only dream about. During his years in retirement he took meticulous care of his lawn, loved his dogs- Sophie and Coco and spent every minute he could with his wife, P.P. Jim never allowed his limitations to hold him back and whether it was on his scooter, golf cart or lawn mower he was out and about loving life. Frank Sinatra said it best..."I've lived a life that's full I traveled each and every highway and more, much more than this I did it my way." Jim leaves behind his wife, Pam Prentice; two sisters, EllaVern Adcock and Kathleen Weibel.; two brothers; Mac Casen and Denny Casen; five children, Denise Prentice, Diane Scavuzzo, Susan Morgan, Kevin Prentice and Kenneth Prentice; in addition to many grandchild and a great grand-daughter. A memorial service was 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 14, 2014 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Memorials in Jim's name may be made to the Springfield Hotel Lodging Association in care of the family or the funeral home for the benefit of MSU and OTC Hospitality Student Scholarships.
