James Barton Mynatt, age 61, of Nixa passed away in his home surrounded by his family, Saturday, July 16, 2016. He was born October 31, 1954 in Springfield, to Wayne and Eunice (Wilcox) Mynatt. He married Rose Ann Carter June 25, 1977.
After graduating high school Jim joined the U. S. Navy, serving in Viet Nam. He later served in the Naval Reserve in the 1980's. Jim was a welder and worked as a sales and service representative in the welding industry. In later years, Jim drove a school bus for Nixa Schools and he enjoyed his second family with Alliance Bus Company. Jim was well liked by the kids who rode the bus. He was able to see them in his next job with Sodexo Service Company where he worked in the Nixa Schools.
Jim was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved football and followed the Kansas City Chiefs. When Jim was younger he and Rose liked to ride dirt bikes and later rode motorcycles. He loved music and played the drums and guitar. Jim loved animals especially his bulldog Cracker. Jim loved his family very much and was a good provider.
Jim is survived by his wife Rose; his children Carter Mynatt, his wife Rydell, of Willard, Jake Mynatt of the home, Jenifer Miller, of Nixa and Scott Mynatt, his wife Bobbi, of Spokane; a brother Richard Mynatt, his wife Dian, of Liberty Center, IN; a sister Cora Lee Patrick, her husband Ed, of Nixa; seven grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; and many friends.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM July 23, 2016, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, at the Cowboy Church, Highlandville, Pastor Jim, Rantz officiating.
