James Elmer Dale

James E. Dale, age 79 of Nixa, died Sunday, August 24, 2014. He was born October 29, 1934 in Joplin, the son of Elmer H. and Evelyn Josephine (Johnson) Dale. On April 14, 1962, James married Betty Cox. James was a member of North Nixa Baptist Church. He loved to fish. James also enjoyed creating beautiful stained glass. Survivors include: his wife, Betty Dale, of the home; children, Barbara Courtney and husband Steve, Hurley; Laura Eaton, California and Douglas Dale, Nixa; grandchildren, Lindsay Miller, California, James and Kristen Courtney, Hurley, Justin and Mikayla Payette, California and Alex Jankov, California; one great grandchild, Daylen Courtney, Hurley; and a sister, Shirley Joyce and husband Jack, Indiana. James was preceded in death by his parents; and his other siblings, Howard, Richard, Robert and Dema. A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 3, 2014 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Steve Courtney officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
