James Cooper

James Leon Cooper, age 80, of Rogersville, passed away in his home Tuesday, December 19, 2023. He was born January 22, 1943 in Fagus, Missouri, the son of Delmar Clyde Cooper and Millie Rosetta (Crawford) Cooper. On February 22, 1963 he and Carolyn Fay (Pratt) were united in marriage. Both his family and Carolyn's had moved to California from Missouri.

James retired from Tamco Steel in Fontana, California, and they returned to Missouri to be near family. He maintained a large garden every year until his health prevented it.

Survivors include: his wife, Carolyn; three children and their spouses, Jeanette Stephenson and Brian of Sparta, Penny Fender and Richard of Ozark, and Richard Cooper and Amber of Rolla; eleven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by seven brothers, one sister, and his parents.

No formal services are planned. Arrangements and cremation are entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, and Adams Crematory.
