James Carl "Mac" McConnell, age 85 of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed away February 26, 2012 in Broken Arrow. He was born May 20, 1926 in Nixa, Missouri to Seymour & Lacretia McConnell. Mac served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an Over the Road Bus Driver for Greyhound Bus Lines. Mac was preceded in death by his parents, & one sister, Elva Gwaltney in 1992. Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Shirley of the home; one son, James "Carry" McConnell & his wife Julie of Jacksonville, North Carolina; one daughter, Alberta Garoutte & her husband Daryl of Coweta, Oklahoma; 2-granddaughters, Michelle Yelton & husband Michael of Lake Lure, North Carolina, & Melissa Hayden of Jacksonville, North Carolina; 3-great-grandsons, Jackson & Ryan Yelton of Lake Lure, North Carolina, & Zackery Hayden of Jacksonville, North Carolina; 3-Sisters, Rayma Young of Nixa, Missouri, Glenna Frazier of Conway, Arkansas, & Norma Hecox of Wichita, Kansas; & a host of nieces, nephews, & other relatives. The family has suggested memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association OR Rivercross Hospice.
