Jacqueline "Jackie" Larson, age 81, of Springfield, MO passed away Tuesday morning, September 26, 2017. She was born on March 22, 1936 in DeSoto, MO. Her parents were Clarence and Amy Pope Calahan.
She had one older sibling, a brother Clarence Calahan Jr.
Her family moved to St. Louis when she was a young girl and she graduated from Webster Groves High School in 1954. She attended college in Cape Girardeau, MO and then began working in a surgeons office in Clayton, MO.
Jackie met the love of the life at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO through a mutual friend. This was Dr. Carl Larson, an Optometrist in the Army. They were married in 1957 and had just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary. They made their home in Waynesville, MO for 43 years. They have one son, Jon (Patti) Larson in Walnut Grove, MO. Their daughter, Dr. Deborah Larson and (companion Susan Weatherman) live in Springfield MO.
Jackie was involved in operating a dress shop, was a realton, and helped run her husband's Optical practice during her career.
Her husband and children will miss her greatly, but know she has gone on to be with her Lord and Savior.
The service for the Celebration of Life for Jackie Larson will be Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 1:00 PM at The Camdenton United Methodist Church in Camdenton, MO with Rev. Marc Magna officiation. Interment will be at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at 5201 S. Southwood Rd., Springfield, MO 65804.
