Jack A. Whittington, age 85 of Ozark, passed away November 9, 2012. He was born January 24, 1927 in Ozark, the son of Clarence and Thelma (McCauley) Whittington.
Jack was a member of Cassidy United Methodist Church. He was retired from Missouri State University, where he worked as a carpenter. Jack had also worked at DAYCO.
Jack was married to Virginia Lee Collins Whittington for 61 years. Virginia preceded Jack in death in 2009.
Survivors include: 3 daughters, Diana & husband Gary Dixon, Blue Springs, Suzy & husband Brad Thomas, Ozark and Patti & husband Tom Miller, Fair Grove; son, Kirk A. Whittington & Wanda Jackson, Ozark; eight grandchildren: Dr. Kayce & Brandon Morton, Adam Dixon, Kristen & Kevin Bergman, Jessica Whittington and Jason Novak, Curtis & Yulia Whittington, Megan Thomas & Josh Meredith and Cory Miller & Morgan Potter; four great-grandchildren: Ashlyn Morton, Madison Bergman, Cooper Morton and James Meredith; brother, John David & wife Novella Whittington; and sister-in-law, Viola Twibell.
In addition to his wife, Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2012 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Harold Peters officiating. Burial will follow in Richwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
