Jack Fay Moore, age 88, of Nixa, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015. He was born February 19, 1927, in Greene County, the son of Elba and Stella (Inman) Moore. He graduated from Republic High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Jack and Betty Lou Johnston were married December 29, 1950. They lived on the family farm where Jack's parents had lived. Jack was a family man and a true outdoorsman. He made sure his grandchildren shared his love of the farm and outdoor activities. Jack was a member of Union Hill Church of Christ. He retired as International Secretary for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Betty; three children and their spouses, Thomas and Mary Moore of Nixa, Deborah and Michael Mills of Nixa, and Marilyn and Brad Simpson of Overland Park, KS; grandchildren, Kevin Moore and Lorna, Samantha Vaughn and Matt, Scott Moore and Gretchen, Jeffrey Mills and Kelly, Andrew Mills and Kristen, Whitney Simpson, Shane Simpson and Brittany, Jacob Simpson, and Jaclyn Simpson; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Wyatt, Madilyn, Megan, Abigail, Ben, Lucy, Jackson, Allison, Alexis, and a new baby boy; three sisters, Opal Hunt and husband Dean, Mary Schmidt, and Mildred Gibson; a sister-in-law, Billie Johnston; nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and Tom's mother Elaine; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 16, in Union Hill Church of Christ in Nixa with Steve Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Patterson Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Tuesday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
