Jack Richard Carter II, of Ozark, passed away Monday, August 17, 2015 surrounded by his family.
Jack was born on February, 29, 1952 in Joplin. He graduated from Ozark High School in 1970, and later married his high school sweetheart on August, 5, 1973. They remained happily married for the next 42 years.
Jack was a caregiver through and through. He was happiest when he was helping others. This trait was most utilized in his career as a nurse. He had a special gift to comfort the families of those going through major medical issues, and the compassion to care for his patients in the most selfless way possible. Jack loved traveling, fishing, riding his bicycle and spending time with his family and friends.
Jack is survived by his wife Linda; son Derek; daughter in law Nicole; grandson Everett; brothers in law and sisters in law Scott and Donna Turner, John and Sarah Grubaugh and George and Marcia Grubaugh; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father Jack; mother Lucille; sister Lana; brother in law Joseph; father in law Russell Grubaugh; and mother in law Fern Grubaugh.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Richwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
