Inez A. Sims

Inez Sims, age 97, of Springfield passed away Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Birch Pointe Rehabilitation Springfield. She was preceded in death by her husband Huey; her parents Jesse and Famy White; and two sisters Jewel Holland, her husband Alan and Norene Mason, and her husband Glen. Inez loved life and was a joy and inspiration to all. As a young lady, she worked at Newberrys in downtown Springfield. Square dancing was a weekend pleasure while courting Huey, her husband to be. Inez was united in marriage to Huey Sims in 1946. They were blessed with 57 years together. To this union one daughter, Brenda L. Sims was born. Inez became a Christian at an early age and was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church. She served as a Sunday School Teacher and in many other capacities. Her kind, gentle and fun loving ways will live forever as treasured memories. Inez is survived by her daughter Brenda Sims; nieces Pam Rollings, her husband Ray and Judy Rantz, her husband Eugene; and a host of friends among who was Donnie Treese. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in Pleasant View Baptist Church, Highlandville. A visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Flood Cemetery, Highlandville. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church, 174 Stu Cr. Highlandville, Missouri 65669. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
