Inez Owens

Inez Owens, age 93 of Nixa, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Nixa. Mrs. Owens was born in Battlefield, the daughter of Henry and Alta (Perkins) DeMonbrun. She married Clifford Owens in 1936. They operated Owens Motor service in Springfield prior to their retirement. Survivors include: one daughter, Nancy Moore and husband Bob; granddaughter, Connie Harp; and six great grandchildren, Aaron Harp, Amanda Fenley, Alesia Harp, Kyle Moore, Luke Moore and Alex Moore. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford; a grandson and his wife, Mark and Cindy Moore; one sister; and three brothers. Mrs. Owens was a faithful member of Wesley United Methodist Church and served as a volunteer at Cox Hospital for 39 years. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow in White Chapel Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. Saturday immediately before the service in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, local Parkinson"�s Association, or HPS Hospice, who was very helpful and caring to her during her last months.
