Howard Edward Householder, 86, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away on December 15, 2024. He was born on September 19, 1938, to Harry and Jennie (Swift) Householder.
Howard married Karen Lynn (Tummons) Householder on April 6, 1990, and together they shared many happy years. Howard proudly served in the United States Navy for four years during peacetime. His work ethic, a value instilled in him by his parents, especially his mother after his father’s passing, was evident throughout his life and was something he passed down to his children.
He was a member of Selmore Baptist Church, where he enjoyed playing guitar and singing in the gospel groups at the church. Howard loved spending time outdoors, whether it was hunting with his bird dogs or fishing for walleye and crappie. Gardening was also a favorite pastime, and he took great pride in growing tomatoes and cucumbers.
Howard will be remembered for his love of family, his strong faith, and the kindness he showed to those around him. He is survived by his wife, Karen, and his children.
Howard is survived by: his spouse, Karen Lynn (Tummons) Householder; a daughter, Eunice Smith (Terry); a son, Steven Householder; two brothers, Don Householder, David Householder; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents, former spouse, Geraldine (Forrester) Ray; a son, Bruce Householder; three brothers, Harold Householder, Bill Householder, Harry Householder; five sisters, Mary Lou Ijams, Betty Jo Howrey, Alice York, Melba Driscoll, and Alberta Householder.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark and cremation rites will be accorded to Adams Crematory.
