Holland Francis "H.F." Ellison Jr., age 82, of Nixa, passed away on December 16, 2015 at the Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon, MO. He was born March 26, 1933 in Cedar Creek, MO, the son of Holland F. Sr. and Isa Mae (Patterson) Ellison. H.F. graduated from Sparta High School in 1951. Following graduation he attended Draughon's Business College. He was united in marriage to his wife of 63 years, Evelyn Flo (Freeman) July 6, 1952.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal during the Korean Conflict in Anti-Aircraft Artillery, and as Battery Clerk in Boston, MA. Before his military service he worked for Caterpillar in IL. He was employed in various business capacities before retirement including accounting, director of data processing with Cox Health, real estate, and owner of Hereford Room Steak House. He was a member of Nixa First Baptist Church where he served as deacon and custodian.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Deanna Cosolo and husband Vince, Cindy Burky and husband Chester, and Jane Jacob and husband Scott; grandchildren Deke Irons, Cody Irons and wife Chrystal, Joshua Campbell, Caleb Burky, Cary Burky, and Holly Harmon and husband Kris; great-grandchildren Daylon Irons, Cayden Irons, Noah Harmon, Cameron Irons, Ayden Harmon, Casey Burky, and Jaycee Harmon; three sisters, June Stubbs of Pekin, IL, Martha Jones and husband Jerry of Schaumburg, IL, and Koella Roberts and husband Rev. Gene Roberts, of Ozark, MO, a sister-in-law Shirley Ellison of Rogersville, MO; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Holland was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Wanda Moses and husband Arley, a brother Dean Ellison, and a brother-in-law Max Stubbs.
Funeral services will be 9:00 AM Monday, December 21 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial with military honors will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 8:30 am until service time on Monday.
