Helen Pearson

Mary Helen Pearson, age 81, of Nixa, passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 in her home. She was born July 16, 1931 in Seligman, Missouri, the only child of James Atley Shaffer and Velma (Watson ) Shaffer. She graduated from Central High School in Springfield in 1949. On July 12, 1952 she and Bobby Charles Pearson were united in marriage. Helen traveled and moved with her husband overseas and the United States while he made his career in the U.S. Army. She served as Ward Secretary for St. John"�s Hospital in Springfield for 20 years. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Bobby; a son, Daniel Pearson, Clever; a daughter-in-law, Holly Pearson, Pleasant Hope; and three grandchildren, Dustin, Cooper and Tyler. A son, David Pearson preceded her in death in 2007. Private services will be in the interment shelter at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
