Helen W. Hawkins

Helen W. Hawkins, 92, of Nixa, passed away in her home on Thursday, May 12, 2011. She was born September 18, 1918, the daughter of Frank and Bess Ward, and enjoyed growing up in Eminence, MO. She made Nixa her home for the last 59 years. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Kirk Hawkins, brothers Frank Bennett Ward and John Lyman Ward, and her sister June Ward. She is survived by her children Kirk Hawkins II and wife Debbie of Toney, Al; Kathy Viter and husband Paul of Independence, MO; John Hawkins and wife Pam of Nixa, MO; Richard L. Hawkins and wife Sonia of Houston, TX; Jean Hilgedick and husband Don of Blue Springs, MO; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, in the Nixa Christian Church. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Nixa Christian Church or to the charity of the donor"�s choice.
