Hazel Ann Brewer, 98, of Nixa passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at James River Nursing & Rehabilitation in Springfield.
Hazel was born on February 8, 1924 in Winslow, AZ; the daughter of Frank and Ethel (Glaze) Taylor. Hazel married Donald Brewer in 1948. He passed in 1999. She is also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Daniel Brewer; and a great-granddaughter, Anita Brewer.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Meakins and husband Michael of Nixa; her son, Richard and wife Susan of Billings, MT; nine grandchildren, Aaron Brewer and wife, Rebecca, Angela Brewer, Alicia Anderson and husband Steve, Tim Meakins, Christina Meakins, Nathaniel Meakins, Joshua Brewer and wife, Debbie, Andrew Brewer, Anastasia Patterson and husband, Michael; and twelve great-grandchildren, Luke Anderson, Kate Berquist and husband, Collin, Natalie Anderson, Lucas Meakins, Elias Meakins, Adelynn Meakins, Austin Meakins, Wyatt Brewer, Josiah Brewer, Alexander Brewer, and, Liam Brewer, Lief Brewer, and Andrew Patterson.
Hazel loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She especially loved to take them boating and swimming, a love Hazel had from teaching swimming lessons with the Red Cross.
A Funeral will be held for Hazel at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa. Burial will follow services at Riverview Cemetery in Arkansas City, KS.
