Harvey Dale Layton, age 67, of Battlefield, went to be with his Lord on September 25, 2014. He was born October 24, 1946 in Hollister, the son of David and Sena (Wire) Layton. He served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Jenkins during the Vietnam War. On June 25, 1977 he and Kristine Kay Guthrie were united in marriage.
Dale retired from Kraft Foods in 2012 after 42 years of employment. He enjoyed basketball, was a history buff, and enjoyed helping the kids with their civil war projects. He attended Battlefield Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include: His wife, Kristine; two sons, Aaron Dale Layton, and Scott Lytle; five grandchildren, Zack Lytle, Haley Layton, Katrina Lytle, Joshua Lytle, and Justin Lytle; a great-granddaughter, Zoey; two sisters, Louise and Margie; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Layton and Mary Layton; Kristine's brothers and sisters, Theresa, Ronnie, Diane, Bob, Susan, and Steven and all their families, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Wade Lytle, and two brothers, Dean Layton and Richard Layton.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 1, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Richard Orrell officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Missouri Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home.
