Harold "Hap" Rainey, age 85, of Springfield passed away Thursday, July 20, 2017. He was born in Ozark November 13, 1931 in his parent's home, Ralph and Genevieve (Wilcox) Rainey. He married Betty Lou Bolin November 29, 1953 at her former pastor's home in Galena.
Harold served in the Navy in the early 1950's. He was a Pipe Fitter on a repair ship at the Naval Base in San Diego. He was a driver for Foremost Dairy in Springfield for over 30 years with a perfect driving record of over a million miles accident free. He was a member of South Gate Baptist Church, Springfield. Harold was a proud member of the Gate of the Temple Masonic Lodge number 422. He loved farming cattle, horses, gardening and haying. He loved his John Deere tractors and kept them polished and in perfect condition. His grandchildren say he was a master craftsman of Dr. Pepper Floats. ‘Hap" never knew a stranger.
Harold is survived by his wife, Betty Lou, 63 years; children Darold Rainey of Kansas City, and Lynette Weatherford, her husband David of Nixa; grandchildren Callie Rainey, Lexi Weatherford, and Bryson Weatherford; sisters Iola Pride of Nixa, Mina McDowell of Nixa, Linda Wolf, and her husband David of Clever.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM Monday, July 24, 2017 in Adams Funeral Home Nixa. The funeral service will be at 1:00 PM following the visitation in the funeral home. Burial will be at Selmore Cemetery, Ozark.
