Harold "Shorty" Bolin

Harold Dean "Shorty" Bolin, age 84, of Highlandville, passed away in his home early Friday, September 25, 2015. He was born in Highlandville, the son of Plesant and Wonda Ruth (Ellingsworth) Bolin on June 3, 1931. He served his country in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Korean War. On June 4, 1955 he and Sylvia Sharron Sturdefant were united in marriage. Last June they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Shorty worked for Lily Tulip, retiring in 1993 after 38 years employment. He was a farmer and in earlier years enjoyed his motorcycle. More recently, he liked driving his "mule". Shorty attended Craig Hollow Church. Survivors include: His wife, Sylvia; three children all of Highlandville, Randy Bolin, Dennis Bolin and Lora Bolin; 10 grandchildren, Brad and Mara, Alison, Leigha and Jason, Amber, Abby and Chris, Will and Hannah, Jessi and Lee, Sarah, Bo, Kyle and Kyra; and nine great-grandchildren, Aleasa, Ethan, Anthony, Greyson, Makenna, Evie, Cayleigh, Jonah, and Maesyn. He was preceded in death by son, Wayne Bolin, a brother Charles Bolin, and his parents. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, September 28, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow in Highlandville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home.
