Guylene Terry, age 88, of Nixa passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday July, 14, 2017. She was born September 15, 1928 in Paducah, KY to Guy D. and Dorothy (Cagle) Kelley. She was united in marriage to Bill Terry December 24, 1944. Guylene was raised by her paternal grandparents in McCracken County, KY. Her great-grandparents were charter members of Maxon Christian Church. She attended Heath High School and the Chicago School of Nursing.
Guylene was a Registered Nurse for many years. She began her career at St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL. She retired from nursing in the Dallas area. She moved to Nixa to be near her granddaughter, Sharon and her great-grandchildren. Guylene was very active in her church, Aldersgate United Methodist Church, and was a devout Christian. Guylene loved her Savior and gospel music. She loved to fish and spent many happy vacations boating and fishing with her family. She was very outgoing, and social. Guylene was very independent and you never had to wonder what she was thinking.
Guylene is survived by a daughter Guynell Krzak, her husband Dave of Aurora; a son Richard Terry, his wife Candi of Gordonville, TX; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild Samantha Hawrysz.
Guylene is preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill Terry, three sisters Joyce Hobbie, Yvonne Streffe, and Jean Hilsey; a brother Bill Kelley; and a great-granddaughter,
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, July16, 2017 in Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Nixa. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, July 17, 2017 at Woodville Cemetery, Kevil, KY.
