Grace Johnson

Grace Johnson, age 87 of Nixa, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014. She was born May 22, 1927 in Madrid, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Ida Marie (Oberg) Nelson. Grace married Richard Johnson in 1946. She enjoyed being a homemaker and pastor's wife. Grace was a loving mother. Her family and church were very important to her. Grace was a prayer warrior and read the Bible daily. She loved sewing and made clothes for all of her children. Grace was member of Riverdale Baptist Church. Survivors include: two daughters, Joyce Walwyn and husband John, and Patricia Fullerton and husband Clyde; her son, Dennis Johnson; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Richard Johnson; a son, Ronnie Johnson; and a daughter, Annette Nicholson. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Jamie Bilyeu officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Schupbach Cemetery, Chestnutridge. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home.
