Gordon Russell Jones, age 88 of Garrison died in his home on January 24, 2022. He was born August 30, 1933 in Garrison, Missouri, the son of Cecil and Merle (Gibson) Jones.
On August 24, 1957, Gordon was united in marriage to Zelda (Stevens.)
Gordon farmed all of his life. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Gordon served as a Deacon of Garrison Baptist Church for more than 60 years.
Survivors include: his wife, Zelda Jones of Garrison; three children, Brenda Herd and husband Danny of Chadwick, Tammy Payne of Garrison and Russ Jones and wife Kim of Garrison; grandchildren, Lacey Loring and husband Garrett, Abby Bertoldie and husband Justin, Brady Herd and wife Paig, Scott “Bub” Payne and wife Melissa, Colten Jones and wife Jordyn, Shelby Dalton and husband Emmett, Gavin Herd and wife Hannah and Stevi Jones; great grandchildren, Mylea Bertoldie, Khloe Loring, Molly Bertoldie, Grayden Loring, Saydee Jones, Heidi Herd, Blayze Payne, Cambree Jones, Hank Herd, Blakely Payne, Emmryn Dalton, Alena Parker and Ellis Jones; two sisters in law, Shirley Jones and Charlene Parnell and husband Dick; brother in law, Tom Stevens and wife Fay; and several special cousins; nieces, nephews and friends.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, George Jones and Jerry Jones; two sisters in law, Marti Jones and Mary Kay Stevens; and a great granddaughter, River Dalton.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Garrison Baptist Church, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Reverend Bally Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Garrison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
