Glenna Baumgardner, age 88, of Forsyth, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2024. She was born on June 24, 1936, in Houston, Missouri, to William Layton and Arlena Wolf.
Glenna grew up in Houston, Missouri, before moving to Independence, where she met the love of her life, Lawrence Baumgardner, who had also grown up in Ava, Missouri. The two were married in 1951 and shared 60 beautiful years together until Lawrence’s passing in 2011.
After their marriage, Glenna and Lawrence moved to Ava, Missouri, where she worked as a waitress at Hutch's Café for 12 years. The couple later relocated to Alva, Oklahoma, where Glenna worked at a steakhouse. Eventually, they returned to Missouri and settled in Sparta.
Glenna and Lawrence were devoted to their faith, attending Lighthouse Church in Bruner and reading the Bible together every day. One of Glenna’s greatest joys was organizing the annual weeklong family reunion, a cherished tradition that kept her loved ones close.
Glenna was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Lawrence, her son Vernon Baumgardner, brothers John Romines and Lawrence K. Baumgardner, and sisters Faye Romines, Imogene Romines, and Beaula Romines.
She is survived by her sons Larry Baumgardner and wife Diane of Ozark, Roy Baumgardner and wife Ladonna of Forsyth, and John Romines of Lawrence, Kansas. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
There are no services planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Cremation rites are accorded by Adams Crematory.
