Glen E. Inman, age 84, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 in Mercy Hospital following a short illness. He had been a resident of Bradford Court Assisted Living in Nixa. Glen was born November 20, 1931 in Nixa, the son of Edgar and Marie (McConnell) Inman. He served his country in the U.S. Navy Reserves. He and Martha "Jackie" Prugger were married December 10, 1954.
Glen retired from Burlington Northern Railway in 1996. Since that time you would often find Glen in his garage, fixing a mower or tinkering with anything that needed fixing. He also enjoyed a trip to the river or lake for fishing, and playing his guitar and banjo. Glen was an avid musician and enjoyed country and bluegrass music.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie in 2013; brothers Nolan Inman and Okla "Sonny" Inman; two sisters, Ila Widders and Avadean Cole; and his parents.
Survivors include: His daughter Glenda Savard and husband Tom, of Ozark; a son, Allen Inman and wife Lori, of Springfield; grandchildren, Kristyn Johnson, Kelly Everding, Alex Inman, and Nick Inman; and four great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Johnson, Alivia Everding, Pierson Johnson, and Bennett Everding.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Thursday, June 16, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow in Hazelwood Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday in the funeral home.
