Geraldine Therese Evans, age 89, of Galena, formerly of Ozark, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017. She was born May 5, 1928 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Edward James and Christine Tilly (Pintar) Murray. Growing up in Des Moines Geraldine attended St. Joseph Academy. She and her husband, Robert Franklin Evans, had been together since 1958. The family moved to Missouri in 1970. Geraldine worked as an inspector for General Electric for 18 years before retirement. She worked at Silver Dollar City for six years and for a ceramic shop for several years.
Geraldine was a faithful Catholic, and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Ozark.
Survivors include: Six children: Christine of Arizona, Lonetta Manley of Oregon, Gypsy Lee Davis-Collins and Charles of Galena, Leo James Evans and Darla of Nixa, Edward Anthony Evans and Melinda of North Carolina, Tisa Henderson and David of Galena; a step-son, George Smith of Blue Springs, MO; a sister, Margaret Woodhead of Iowa; 23 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert in 1997, a grandson, Patrick Graham; and granddaughter, Misty Humphries.
A funeral mass will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 7, at St. Joseph The Worker Catholic Church, Ozark, with Father Scott Sunnenberg officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Monday at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with a Rosary starting at 5:00 PM led by Father Samson Dorivall.
