Geraldine Calley, of Ozark, was born June 1, 1926 to Hildred (Erven) and Gerald Branson in Monteith, Iowa. She passed away November 20, 2012 while a resident of Ozark Riverview Manor. Geraldine attended elementary school in Monteith and high school in Guthrie Center graduating in 1943. After graduation she attended nurses"� training at Grandview College in Des Moines, IA. On June 3, 1945 she was united in marriage to Clifford Christensen, and to this union three sons were born, Bob, Ed and Ken. During her sons early years she worked at the Guthrie Times and Guthrie County Farm Bureau. On March 4, 1965 she married Rex Calley and became the mother to his sons, Steve, Doug, David, and Todd. Geraldine and Rex relocated from Guthrie Center to Ozark in 1969 where she continued to make her home. She worked at Ozark Treasures, Native Woods and the U.S. Post Office, retiring as a rural mail carrier in 1992. Geraldine served on the Ozark City Park Board for a number of years. She also was a member of the Ozark Utopia Club, TOPS, Red Hat Society, and retained her membership in the First Christian Church in Guthrie Center. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husbands, Rex and Cliff, sons Ken Christensen and Steve Calley, as well as her parents and sister, Mavadelle Christoffersen and husband, Arno. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Bob Christensen (wife, Julie) and children Troy (Dina) Christensen, and Kelly (Brett) Rowley; Ed Christensen (wife, Kathi) and children, Shane (Ronda) Christensen, Ty (Marti) Christensen, Kristena Christensen, and Josh (Jessi) Christensen; Doug Calley; David (Cathy) Calley and children Cory and Mandy; and Todd Calley and sons Clay and Mason. She also is survived by 16 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be 10:00 AM Friday, November 23 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Gene Swofford officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time on Friday. Burial will be in Springfield National Cemetery.
