Gerald Lee Beckner

Gerald Lee Beckner, age 78 of Nixa, passed away December 12, 2015. He was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the son of Lawrence and Lillian Beckner. Gerald served his country for 25 years in the U.S. National Guard. On January 1, 1966 he and Charlotte Alice Beckner were united in marriage. Charlotte preceded Gerald in death on February 8, 2014. Survivors include: daughter, Ruth Scott and husband Rob of Phoenix; son, Larry Beckner and wife Julie of Council Bluffs, Iowa; son, Jerry (Gerald) Beckner, Jr., Phoenix; daughter, Deborah Martin and husband Herman of Glenwood, Iowa; son, Rick Beckner of Council Bluffs; son, Kelley Beckner and wife Traci of Nixa; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and sister, Janice. In addition to his wife, Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; an infant child; and his other siblings. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Steve Hall officiating. Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.AdamsFuneralHome.net.
