Georgia Nadine Whitman

Georgia Nadine Whitman, age 88, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013, surrounded by her family at home. She was born June 25, 1924, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, the daughter of Walter and Nancy Sue (Sanders) Thomas. On January 8, 1946, she and Frank F. Whitman were united in marriage. Nadine enjoyed China painting. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, enjoying her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church. Survivors include: Her husband, Frank; two daughters, Sherril Larson and husband Gail of Neosho, and Joyce Iorg and husband Jarrett of Sparta; a daughter-in-law, Claudia Whitman of Sparta; six grandchildren, Sherri Coffer, Mark Iorg, Debbie Jenkins, Jerry Larson , Joel Sheldon and Travis Whitman; twelve great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Dale Thomas, of Sparta; and a sister, Lavern Allen of Battlefield. She was preceded in death by her son, Steve Whitman, a brother, Glen Thomas, and her parents, Walter and Susie Thomas. A graveside funeral will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 12, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
