Georgia Ann Tennison

July 24, 1937 — November 18, 2011

Georgia Ann Tennison, age 74, of Sparta, went to be with her Lord Friday, November 18, 2011. She was at home surrounded by her loving family. Georgia was born July 24, 1937 in Rogersville, the daughter of George C. and Sally Ann (Eddings) McDaniel. She graduated from Rogersville High School and attended Drury College. On May 18, 1963 she and Harold C. Tennison were united in marriage in Harrison, Arkansas. Georgia enjoyed her work as a Headstart Teacher and substitute teacher at Chadwick and Sparta Schools. A devout Christian, Georgia worked and sang along side her husband as they shared the gospel with thousands. She loved music and singing and those who heard her were blessed. She also taught Sunday School at Hilltop Full Gospel Church where her husband, Harold, ministered for the past twenty-six years. Survivors include: Her loving husband, Harold; three children, Robin Dotson and wife, Andrea, Sparta, Gloria Jones, Nixa, and Kristy Bonneau, Sparta; four grandchildren, George Dotson, Daniel Dotson, Levi Jones, and Savannah Jones; Two sisters, Eva Jane Wilkerson, and Bernice Maples, both of Springfield; other relatives and a wealth of friends who she always held in prayer. Preceding her in death were: a grandson, Hunter Jones; a sister, Catherine Maples; two brothers, Porter McDaniel, and Mac McDaniel; and her parents. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 22, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri, with Pastor Don Owens, Evangelist Jay Heflin, and Evangelist Terry Bailie officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemeter, Sparta, Missouri. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM Monday in the funeral home.
