Georgia Layfette Phipps

Georgia Layfette Phipps, age 90, of Ozark, passed away Friday, June 26, 2015. She was born October 6, 1924, in Tin Town, Missouri, the daughter of Milligan Layfette and Gracie Augusta Powell. On February 17, 1940 she and Clyde Phipps were united in marriage. They were married for 58 years before his death in 1997. Georgia worked as Food Service Manager for 30 years at Venture in Springfield before retirement. She loved her family and enjoyed being with family and friends. Survivors include: Two sons, Danny Phipps and wife Nancy of Billings, and Mike Phipps and wife Kari of Ozark; a son-in-law, Don Coble of Vanzant; and five grandchildren, Blaine, Daryl and David Coble, Amy Krause, and Matt Phipps. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Coble; several brothers and sisters, and her husband, Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 29, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow in Highlandville Cemetery.
