George A. Lewis passed away on Friday, March 23 2018 at his home in Nixa, MO. George was born on April 30, 1933 in Buhler, KS, the son of Vinos Lewis and Mollie Lewis. He graduated from Wagoner High School in Wagoner, OK in 1951. George was employed at Electra Manufacturing in Independence, KS and later King Radio Corporation in Olathe, KS. He retired from Allied Signal as Plant Manager in Lawrence, KS.
George enjoyed working on and racing midget cars and attending stock car races. He liked hunting, fishing, and woodcarving. Gardening was a life-long hobby of George's. One of his biggest treasures in life was his many dogs over the years. In his later years he enjoyed his computer. Even in Heaven, George will be watching the Oklahoma Sooners football games and then analyzing them afterwards. But most of all, George loved his family.
H was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; (Opal and Marjorie) and one brother (Ivan "Bud") and nephew (Rodney).
George is survived by his wife, Margaret; his son, Danny Lewis; his daughters Deborah Thorpe (husband Ricky); and Diane Lewis; seven grandchildren; Sam Lewis, Melissa Lewis, Michael Repuyan (wife Maria), Nathan Repuyan, David Repuyan (wife Meridith), Bethany Repuyan, and Christina Baker (husband Kurt). George also had nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Sharon Edens (husband Jack); his brother-in-law Jim Housel (wife Virginia); and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be at McConnell-Bledsoe Cemetery, Nixa. Cremation is under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, MO.
