Airman First Class “A1C” George Harry Erder, Jr., age 88, from St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on January 13, 2025, with his daughters and son-in-law by his side in his home in Nixa, Missouri. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from August 1956 to August 1962 for the country he loved.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Violet (Wolf) Erder, his parents George and Margaret (Gartland) Erder, his brother Robert Erder, his step granddaughter Amber (Haithcoat) Fischer and her step great grandson Jerzey Haithcoat.
He leaves behind his daughters Cathy (Erder) Graham (husband Matt) and Susan (Erder) Haithcoat. Known as “Papa” by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, he leaves behind grandchildren Steven Roloff, Shauna (Roloff) Cargle, and step grandson Jason Haithcoat, and great grandchildren Keighley Murphy, Conner Roloff, Kaitlyn Roloff, Keira Cargle, Kylee McGuire and Camaro Roloff and step great grandchildren Sydney Fischer, Amaya Haithcoat, Emma Fischer, Alexis Fischer, Everly Fischer, and Ailie Fischer. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and step great great grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home in Ozark, Missouri. Cremation rites accorded to Adams Crematory. A short memorial will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 S. Southwood Rd., Springfield, Missouri on April 17, 2025, at 3:00 p.m.
