Gearldean B. Willis passed away November 8, 2012, in Ozark, MO. She was born in Springfield, Missouri February 17, 1924, to Marshall and Edith (Austin) Day. She was united in marriage to Clarence Willis March 18, 1942, in Springfield.
During WW II, Gearldean worked in a ship yard in Yakama, Washington, as a sheet metal worker. In 1962, Clarence, Gearldean, and family, moved to Chadwick. Gearldean soon after joined the Friendship Club, where she enjoyed quilting and being with her friends.
She loved the Lord and was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church for many years. Family was very important to Gearldean. Her family describes her as kind, sincere, and tough, especially because of how she endured through her illness. Gearldeans friends in the Friendship Club were loyal to her the entire time, almost nine years, while she was in the Ozark Nursing and Care Center. They never missed her birthday.
Gearldean is survived by her daughters Judith Hedglin, Humansville, Linda Jenkins, Ozark, and her son, Clarence Dean Willis, Ozark. She is also survived by her brothers, Robert Day, and wife Barbara, Ava, Ronald Day, and wife Xva, Strafford, Larry Day, Springfield, and sister Arletta Phelps and husband Gerald, Wichita, KS, many nieces nephews, and friends.
Gearldean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, brothers, Lester Day, Dewey Day, Marshall Day, and Leonard Day; sisters Mildred Andrews, Ruth Peacock, and Doris Altaffer.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 10, 2012 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark with burial to follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. "� 7:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home.
