Gayl Dean Hedgpeth, age 74, of Nixa, passed away, Wednesday, January 22, 2014, in St. Louis. He was born to Archie and Imogene (Horn) Hedgpeth, February 4, 1936, in Nixa. He was united in marriage to Louise Periman-McDaniel, a life of 35 years together. Gayl always loved the outdoors. He liked to farm, raising dairy and beef cattle. In his younger years, Gayl was a bull rider in the rodeo circuit, and was very good at riding. Gayl took life by the horns. He was outgoing, open hearted and would help anyone. He always liked to be at social functions, and enjoyed music and movies. Gayl worked at DAYCO, in Springfield, retiring after over 25 years.
Gayl is survived by his wife, of Nixa; a step son Duane McDaniel, of Ozark; a sister-in-law Kay Bilyeu, of Ozark; and many cousins and friends.
Gayl is preceded in death by his parents, and many Aunts and Uncles.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 25, 2014, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A visitation will held from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at Shcupbach Cemetery, Spokane.
