Gary Wayne Milburn

Gary Wayne Milburn, age 58 of Nixa, Missouri passed to his eternal reward on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at his home surrounded by the love of his family.

Gary was born on July 28, 1964, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Herbert and Juanita (Farley) Milburn. At a young age, Gary found a great love of the outdoors. Camping with his family in Sulphur, OK. This love of camping and being outdoors continued into his adult life.

Gary was united in marriage on May 27, 1991, to Teresa Scott. Together they loved to travel. Gary’s greatest joy was his daughter Christy. She was his partner in crime. Together, they shared his love of hunting and fishing. They spent countless hours together, just enjoying each other’s company. Christy would say that her dad was her best friend.

There was nothing that Gary would not try to fix, even if that meant having to call a real professional to fix Gary’s fix. He was a handyman at heart. He loved spending time with his family and friends. They enjoyed kayaking and gardening. Gary brought joy to every life he touched. He worked as air support with the FAA for 34 years.

Gary was preceded by his parents, sister Sandy Horton, and brother Don Milburn. He is survived by his wife Teresa Milburn, daughter Christy Milburn, brother-in-law Terry Horton, nephews David Horton, Andy Horton (Priscilla), Josh Horton (Chelsea), Nathan Milburn (Channing), niece Amanda Small (Kendall), numerous great nieces, and nephews, extended family and beloved friends.

Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Gary will be laid to rest 2:30 p.m. at Cedar Valley Cemetery near Hollister, Missouri.
