Gail Eugene Noon, age 86, of Ozark, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014. He was born April 25, 1928, in Prophetstown, Illinois, the son of John and Marie (Woodward) Noon. The family moved to this area in 1935 when Gail was seven. He started a cattle career 70 years ago as a cow salesman at the Springfield Stockyard. Gail bought cows for Hormel Packing Company and ran his own cattle operation until his death. He loved a good trade, his cattle and horses.
On February 6, 1949 he and Mary Lou Shelton were united in marriage. Together they had two children, David and Lyndia.
Survivors include: His wife, Mary; a daughter, Lyndia Chaffin and husband, Rick of Ozark; grandchildren, Joel Chaffin and wife Amanda, and Cory Chaffin, all of Ozark, Heather Noon Drake and husband Carey of Douglasville, Georgia, and Clayton Noon of Dothan, Alabama; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Rose Drake, Arthur Carl Drake and Cecelia Noon; and two sisters-in-law, Charlene Aleshire and Eldorene Montgomery.
Gail was preceded in death by a son, David Eugene Noon, brothers, Richard, Jack, Don and Harvey, sisters, Edith Mae Lester, Dosh Partridge, and Genevieve Zinser, brothers-in-law, Bill Aleshire and Val Montgomery, and his parents.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 28, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Selmore Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Selmore Cemetery for maintenance in Gail's name.
