Frederick (Fred) Lee Wright died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015 at his home in rural Nixa MO. Fred was born August 16, 1934 in Saline County MO. His parents, Homer F Wright and Beatrice Irene Wright and his brother Charles (Bud) Wright preceded him in death.
Fred married Ann Smith May 29, 1955 and was divorced in 1974. On Oct. 22, 1976 he married Beverly Marie Buck Spencer. Both survive him.
Survivors include children Michael W Wright and wife Christa Cavanaugh of Parkville MO., Cynthia (Cindy) L Schroeder and husband Gene Schroeder of rural Marshall MO., Ronald G Spencer of Rockwall TX and Amy C Spencer of Sausalito CA. Grandchildren are Justin L Schroeder and his wife Abby of rural Miami, MO and Sarah Spencer of Rockwall Texas. Great grandchildren are Avery Lee and Owen Wayne Schroeder of Miami, MO.
Fred graduated from Marshall High School in 1952. Farming was his occupation and passion. He was a leader in adopting no-till practices in Saline County, and served on several boards including the founding of Mid MO Energy. He retired in 2005, and he and Beverly moved to Springfield MO then Nixa and enjoyed nearly ten years of retirement and travel.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00 AM Monday, October 5, in Wesley United Methodist Church, 922 West Republic Road, Springfield. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time on Monday. Additional services will be announced in Marshall, Missouri. Cremation and services are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
