Francis Allen Voyles, Sr., known to friends as "Frank," passed away on November 23, 2012, at the age of 68, in his home in Nixa. He was born to Wayne and Hazel (Darrow) Voyles on February 10, 1944, in Springfield, Missouri. Frank was raised in Eugene, Oregon where he met his wife Nadine (Dee). They were united in marriage on March 21, 1964. They relocated to Missouri and raised their family in Ozark.
Fond memories of those years include camping trips and lots of fishing. Frank was a member of the Ozark Booster Club and enjoyed being involved with the Ozark Rodeo. He was also a member of the Bass Anglers Club. Frank began his career with Hormel Foods in Springfield in 1969. He relocated with the company to Oklahoma City in 1991, and retired in 1999. Frank and Dee moved back to Nixa to enjoy their retirement. They spent lots of time at Frank's lakeside fishing retreat at Cape Fair. He looked forward to deer season every year. Frank and Dee enjoyed spending time with friends and grandchildren. Frank spent special time with the grandchildren playing in the leaves, throwing water balloons, and teaching them how to fish. Frank loved to find treasures at garage sales and flea markets, and was always looking for a good deal on a boat or a four-wheeler.
Frank is survived by Dee, his wife of 48 years, their six children, Dennis, of Oklahoma City, Larenda Hensley and husband Mark, of Springfield, OR, Scott and wife Tina, of Ozark, Mark and wife Tracy, of Springfield, Christie Olguin and husband Danny, of Ft. Smith, AR, and Allen and wife Karen,of Oklahoma City, and thirteen grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Charles and David, and two sisters, Edith Simpson and Lana Lorenger.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, November 26, 2012, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home.
