Frank Reynolds

Frank Reynolds was born February 15, 1922 in Ozark, Missouri and he died peacefully at home on February 28, 2013. He was the youngest child of William and Mary Rosenberger Reynolds. He grew up in Spokane, Missouri where he worked on the farm and for the Civilian Conservation Corp during the Great Depression. He graduated high school in Spokane, Missouri (1938) and attended undergraduate college in Springfield, Missouri while selling and driving school buses for a local business. He joined the US Army in World War II and worked in Operations of the Army Air Corp in England. He was awarded Bronze Stars for Air Offensive Europe, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe Campaigns. After the war, he returned to Southwest Missouri to complete undergraduate study at Missouri State Teachers College (Missouri State University) in 1948 and graduate school at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville in 1949. He studied geography. After graduation, he was employed by the US Navy. He traveled on ship above the Arctic Circle to map the area of northern Alaska and Canada. He left government service and joined the General Electric Company to work on early projects in the unmanned space program. He left the corporate world in 1971 to return home to Southwest Missouri where he sold real estate until his retirement. He married Mary Jane Sullivan (1949) in Springfield and they raised seven children. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane Reynolds and his son Robert James Reynolds ("Officer Bob"�- Springfield Police Department). He is survived by his sons John Michael Reynolds (retired Army and Process Consultant, Maryland), William R Reynolds MD (Reynolds Plastic Surgery, Springfield and Bolivar), Frank Reynolds (Dispatcher, Nixa), Raymond Allen Reynolds (Veterinarian), Kenneth Paul Reynolds (Attorney at RRG Law, Springfield), his daughter Mary Ann Minich (RN Hospice Compassus, Springfield) and his sister Rita Roberts (Spokane). His grandchildren are: Sharon Lowe, Beth Plumhoff, Marie Clarkston, Robert Reynolds, Emma Reynolds, Sarah Reynolds, Rachel Reynolds, Kristy Reynolds, Lisa Looney, Jessie Reynolds, Dancy Reynolds, Bryce Reynolds, Leann Reynolds, Nichole Reynolds, Kallie Reynolds, Collin Reynolds, Carter Minich, Connor Minich and Matthew Grantham. Great grandchildren are: McCabe Lowe, Noah Lowe, Braedon Lowe, Holly Plumhoff and Gwen Plumhoff. He is a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Springfield. With all of his accomplishments, his family and friends were always his greatest joy and happiness. Fishing on Taneycomo, traveling out west to see the wonders of our great national parks, 10-point pitch or rook card games on Chestnut Ridge in Spokane, watching the sporting events of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, listening to Cardinal"�s Baseball or watching the Lady Bears at Missouri State were the personal things that mattered to him. He was also concerned about the recent direction our nation has followed. He was a lifelong Republican. His wisdom, sense of humor, insights into human behavior, work ethic and strong belief in a religious foundation as the basis of all good things will be missed. The Family wishes to thank the Hospice Compassus Staff for their love and care for Frank during his last months. And a very special thanks to Tony Miller who was his constant companion and aide during his last seven months. Tony will be an outstanding pastor. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 6, in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Springfield. Burial will follow in Schupbach Cemetery, Chestnutridge. Visitation will be 6:00 "� 8:00 PM Tuesday in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
