Frances Virginia Christie

Frances Virginia Christie, age 88, of Nixa passed away Friday, May 27, 2016. She was born May 23, 1928 in Mercer County, IL to E. Mack and Gladys (Wagoner) Hood. Frances married John Christie in 1946. John passed away in 1995, celebrating 49 years of marriage. John and Frances lived in Reynold and Taylor Ridge, IL areas until John retired in 1986. They relocated to Cape Fair, and then settling in Nixa. Frances was a member or Cassidy United Methodist Church, Nixa. Frances is survived by her children Marcia Finch, husband Tony, of New Boston, IL, Monte Jon Christie, his wife Sharon, of Sevierville, TN, and Kirk Christie, of East Moline, IL; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. Frances is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers Jack and Mack Hood; sisters Verna DeVelbiss, and Violet Lorraine Lincoln; a great-grandson Sascha Struble. The family will hold a memorial service at 6:00 PM Wednesday, June 1, 2016 in Cassidy United Methodist Church, Nixa. A visitation will be held prior to the memorial service from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
