Floyd Robert Perkins

Floyd R. Perkins, age 88, passed away July 9, 2015. He was born April 15, 1927 in St. Louis to F. Virgil and Bessie (Kerr) Perkins. He married Shirley J. Hoffman on September 1, 1961. Floyd and Shirley started their family with a daughter, C. Kay Perkins Ernst, of Waterford, CA; and three sons, Bruce W. Hoffman (deceased) and John S. Hoffman (deceased) of Nixa, and Chris E. Hoffman of Springfield. Floyd was a good father and the only father the boys knew. Later, Floyd and Shirley had two more sons, Robert M. Perkins of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and James J. Perkins of Houston, TX. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents F. Virgil and Bessie Perkins; and his brother Harold and his wife Mildred Perkins. Floyd was a member of the VFW Post 6758 of Nixa. Floyd was an active member of Union Hill Church of Christ. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Union Hill Church of Christ, 865 N Nicholas Rd, Nixa. A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the church. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2015 in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield. Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Union Hill Church of Christ or The American Cancer Society.
