Fern Nelson

Bertha Fern Hursh Lawson Nelson departed this life on December 11, 2018 at Ozark Nursing and Care Center. She was united in marriage in May, 1944 to Lenny Lawson who preceded her in death in 1975. She later married Clyde Nelson. She is also preceded in death by her second husband Clyde Nelson, parents Bert and Callie Roberts Hursh, two brothers, Joe Hursh and Rex Hursh, a daughter Bonnie Sue Lawson DeWitt Cornog, great-grandson Joel DeWitt, and son-in-law Gary William Daniels. Fern is survived by her daughter Betty Lou Lawson Daniels Arnold and husband Ron, her son Michael Lee Lawson, sister Donna June Hursh Bilyeu and husband Bill, sisters-in-law Hazel Hursh and Christine Hursh, son-in-law Frank Cornog, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Fern was born and raised in Chadwick, Missouri, and was well known for the many quilts she made. She was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, December 14, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Burial will follow in Linden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home.
